Permit To Take Water (PTTW)

In Ontario, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) regulates water usage through the Permits to Take Water (PTTW) program under the Ontario Water Resources Act. A PTTW is required for any individual or organization planning to take more than 50,000 litres of water per day from surface or groundwater sources. Whether you’re a municipality, industrial operator, agricultural business, or developer, obtaining a PTTW ensures compliance with provincial regulations and promotes sustainable water management.
